There are two approved routes for sending messages by law:
The Open or Promotional/Marketing Route
The Corporate 0r Transactional/OTP Route
The Open or Promotional/Marketing Route
Messages sent on the marketing route do not deliver to the recipient on the Do-not-Disturb list. Typically the delivery rate for this bind is somewhere around 69% – 76% depending on the number of samples. Sender IDs on the marketing route do not need prior approval before they can deliver to clients. You can add any sender ID of your choice to your account and start using it. However, on the Airtel network, the sender ID will need to be approved before you can use it.
2. The Corporate 0r Transactional/OTP Route
Messages sent on this route can deliver to any customer including customers on DND. Typically, the delivery rate for this route is somewhere around 93% – 97% depending on the number of samples. To raise your sender ID on this route, we will need to get approval from the operators by sending them a letter of authorization duly signed on your company’s letterhead paper and your certificate of incorporation. It takes between 2 -4 weeks to get the sender ID raised on the four networks.
A sender ID must be case sensitive and must not contain any numeric value for it to deliver.
